How IB Maths Analysis and Approaches Is Assessed

IB Maths AA is the more algebraic of the two courses and is the usual choice for maths-heavy degrees. The structure below is from the AA guide; we also tutor Applications and Interpretation (AI).

Where IB Maths Marks Are Usually Lost

• Paper 1 without a calculator. Students who lean on the GDC in class struggle with exact values and algebra by hand.
• Using the GDC well in Paper 2. Knowing when to graph, solve numerically or use statistics functions saves time and marks.
• HL Paper 3. Its longer problem-solving questions build on earlier parts, so structured working matters.
• The exploration. It is marked on five criteria: presentation, mathematical communication, personal engagement, reflection and use of mathematics.

AA or AI for UK Universities?

How Lessons Fit a London Week

Every lesson is live, 1-on-1 and online, with the same tutor each week. Sessions are arranged in UK time (GMT, or BST in summer) around school and co-curricular commitments, usually on weekday evenings or at weekends. Parents receive monthly progress updates, and every new student starts with a free diagnostic trial session.
