IGCSE Physics Tutor for A-Level and IB โ€” Concept and Method Mastered

Live 1-on-1 online physics tutoring for Cambridge, Edexcel and IB students worldwide. Many students understand the Physics concept but still lose marks through incomplete method, missing units, or weak exam language. We fix those patterns early โ€” before they cost your child a grade.

Who Teaches Physics

Our Physics teachers are experienced Cambridge, Edexcel and IB specialists who understand exactly what examiners want to see. They teach conceptual understanding alongside precise exam technique โ€” so every mark is earned, not guessed.

What We Focus On

Physics marks are frequently lost to incomplete responses, missing units, and poorly explained reasoning. We identify these patterns early and work systematically to eliminate them before exam season.

What Makes It Work

Each session combines conceptual explanation with problem-solving practice. Topical past paper questions are introduced after every topic so students develop real exam fluency โ€” not just familiarity with the theory.

Physics intake is limited per exam cycle so each student receives proper attention and consistent teacher support throughout.

Every Board. Every Level.
Every Physics Specification.

Whether your child is on Cambridge, Edexcel or IB โ€” at IGCSE, A-Level or Diploma โ€” we match them with a teacher who knows that exact specification and assessment structure.

Why Strong Physics Students Still
Lose Marks They Should Not

My child understands the Physics theory but cannot express it in a way examiners award marks for. The knowledge is there โ€” the precision of language is not yet there.
My child understands the Physics theory but cannot express it in a way examiners award marks for. The knowledge is there โ€” the precision of language is not yet there.
Electricity, waves and modern Physics keep losing marks โ€” not because my child does not understand, but because they rush or miss steps under pressure.
A-Level Physics is a significant jump from IGCSE. My child managed IGCSE well but is now genuinely struggling with the mathematical demands of A-Level.
IB Physics HL is intense. My child needs someone who knows the IB assessment criteria and can help structure extended response answers properly.

Physics Gaps Are Silent
Until the Exam Reveals Them

Physics understanding can feel solid during lessons but collapse under time pressure. The gap between knowing the theory and performing under exam conditions is the most common reason strong students underperform.

โŒ Starting Late

My child can explain what electricity is but loses marks on every circuit calculation. Nobody has identified which step is wrong โ€” so they keep practising and repeating the same errors every session.

โœ… The Velocity Approach

Sessions identify the exact step in each calculation where marks are being lost. We correct the method, practise under timed conditions, and repeat until performance is reliable โ€” not just understood in theory.

Why Early Starters Do Better
๐Ÿ“…
Time to Build ProperlyStructured preparation over months means every topic is covered, tested, and genuinely understood before the exam.
๐Ÿ“
Exam Technique EmbeddedMark scheme requirements, examiner language, and question formats take time to internalise. They cannot be rushed.
๐Ÿ“Š
Past Papers With ContextPast papers only build confidence when the syllabus is already understood. Early starters get far more from every paper.
The students who arrive at Physics exams calmly are almost always the ones who started months before their peers.

The Velocity Physics
Preparation Framework

A structured four-stage system โ€” from diagnostic assessment to full exam readiness.

01

Free Diagnostic Assessment

A trial session to assess your child's current level, identify gaps, and understand the exam timeline. Parents receive an honest briefing before preparation begins.

02

Board and Level Matching

Your child is matched with a teacher who specialises in their exact board โ€” Cambridge, Edexcel or IB โ€” and knows the mark scheme and assessment structure.

03

Structured Weekly Progress

Topics covered one at a time with homework, practice questions, and short tests. Monthly reports keep parents fully informed at every stage.

04

Exam Readiness

Timed past papers, mark scheme analysis, common error elimination, and a final revision strategy. By exam day, the student is prepared โ€” not still learning.

How to Get an A* in IGCSE Physics

An A* in IGCSE Physics depends on secure command of core concepts, fluent use of equations with correct units, and disciplined technique on calculation and extended-response questions. Many capable students lose marks not on understanding but on presentation: missing units, not quoting the right equation, or failing to show the substitution that earns method marks. We prepare each student topic by topic, embedding past paper questions as soon as a concept is covered, then correcting against the mark scheme so examiner expectations become second nature. Practical-skills and data-analysis questions are practised throughout, not bolted on at the end. Starting six to nine months ahead gives time to close gaps before revision, the single biggest predictor of an A*.

Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) vs Edexcel Physics (4PH1)

Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) and Edexcel IGCSE Physics (4PH1) cover similar core content, mechanics, electricity, waves, thermal physics, magnetism and atomic physics, but assess it differently. Cambridge 0625 emphasises a practical alternative paper and concise calculation questions across the syllabus. Edexcel 4PH1 tends toward longer, structured questions and expects students to recall certain formulae rather than be given them. The right preparation tracks the exact paper structure and formula list for the board your child sits. Our tutors match each student to their specification and drill the question styles their board favours.

IB Physics SL vs HL: What Your Child Needs to Know

IB Physics is offered at Standard Level and Higher Level, and the gap is significant. HL covers additional topics and greater depth, demands stronger mathematical fluency, and includes more challenging Paper 1, 2 and 3 questions. SL is more manageable but still requires solid command of the core and the practical and data-analysis skills assessed throughout. Universities for physics, engineering and many sciences often prefer or require HL, so the level choice has real consequences. We help students judge whether HL is the right stretch, then prepare for the exams and the Internal Assessment investigation.
